Whether you're a current homeowner, in the market to purchase a new one, looking to custom build your home, or just looking for new ideas and inspiration, the KC Spring Home Show is a must-see! It's been a Kansas City tradition for 66 years and together with the Flower, Lawn, and Garden Show, showcases new opportunities and choices for homeowners to get a jump on spring home and garden projects.
This annual event also kicks off the KC Parade of Homes which takes place April 26 - May 11 this year. We're always looking to conserve. But sometimes, when working to create the idyllic landscape for our homes, conservation of water is dismissed for the sake of a picturesque yard. Houzz.com has offered some tips on great flora choices for lush, low-water gardens.
Take a look at the article here and get some inspiration that will do you water bill some good! It's time to feature another one of our remodeling projects and the incredible progress and changes that have been made! This traditional 5-bedroom home in the Milhaven neighborhood has been completely transformed. The house has been opened up, making much more efficient use of the space and light. In case you were ever wondering, this is what the start of a custom home build job looks like. This new home will be built in the Greens of Chapel Creek subdivision located in Shawnee near 71st Street just off Shawnee Mission Parkway.
Stay tuned for more photos of the process as we move forward! When building a new home, learning the home builder lingo can sometimes be overwhelming. Selecting materials, finishes, and styles can be intimidating when you're not fluent in the language. We found this great article from Houzz.com which gives an overview of the lingo for kitchen cabinet door styles.
This is a great start if you're building a new home or remodeling your current one. Using 3-D technology to build a house in 24 hours seems unreal. However, news.com.au reports that a University of Southern California professor has built a 3-D printer that is said to be capable of building a house in just 24 hours! Professor Behrokh Khoshnevis has programmed a giant robot to spew out concrete and build a home based on a set computer pattern. Humans would take over for finishing touches, such as hanging doors and installing windows...but what is lost with this process? Simply, the human touch? Quality-control?
